While on “The View” during a segment called “Tween Millioniares” Rachel Segal, former student here, introduced the world to her family’s new clothing line “Doodle bras.”
The invention of the “Doodle bras” was an awkward moment for Segal, and friends but is also the reason the clothing line is called “Doodle Bras.” “We were sitting in my room drawing on our regular bras with markers, and my mom walks in and got a little upset, and told my dad,” Segal said, “and to my surprise he wasn’t mad instead he came up with a brilliant idea, the ‘Doodle Bra’ clothing line.”
The “Doodle Bra” clothing line is basically everyday clothing materials, such as of course bras, underwear, shirts, shoes, socks, watches and handbags. “I think the cool thing behind all of this is you can express yourself and you can draw whatever you want and it washes right off,” Segal said. “The reason I think it is so unique is because it is a way to express yourself and show your creativity.”
Lena Segal, sister, was surprised at her father’s idea. “I thought they were going to get in trouble, but he was just so inspired by it,” she said. “I never thought it would come this far, and grow this big. I am very proud of my family for taking action and being supportive of the idea.”
Being proud of the “Doodle Bra” clothing line, Rachel Segal and family are starting to realize, that the popularity is growing rapidly every day. “Being on ‘The View’ and being able to introduce millions of people to the ‘Doodle Bra’ company helped our business grow tremendously,” Rachel Segal said. “My dad played a huge role in getting the company started, but now it’s a family thing, everyone helps out.”
When finding out she was going to be on “The View” Rachel Segal was nervous and exited all in one. “The only thought I had going through my head was ‘are you serious?’ I, Rachel Segal, never thought I would be introducing something I invented, much less on national television.”
Very proud of her sister, Lena Segal continues to support her. “ Out of any one I know, my sister deserves this,” she said. “She has always worked hard and tried her best. She is a very inspiring person, and I am proud she is my sister.”
Running the business from home, Rachel Segal and her family created a website Doodlebra.com. “You can purchase Doodle Bras or any other Doodle attire on the website,” Rachel Segal said. “I hope that our company continues to grow, I am very inspired by my family’s accomplishments and goals.”
